Premier League Opening Weekend Fixtures

Fixture release day is always exciting for football fans. Who are your team playing on the first day? What are the Boxing Day fixtures like? Is the final day of the season absolutely massive!? All these questions have finally been answered. Take a look at the opening weekend fixtures below, there are certainly some huge games to get us kicked off in the 2023/24 Premier League season!

The treble winners Manchester City travel to Vincent Kompany’s Burnley for the Friday night game to kick off the season. Saturday sees the other 2 promoted sides, Luton and Sheffield United take on Europa League qualifiers Brighton and Crystal Palace respectively. Last season’s runners up, Arsenal will welcome Nottingham Forest to the Emirates While Europa Conference League winners West Ham travel to Bournemouth. Everton play Fulham at Goodison with manager Sean Dyche having kept Everton in the Premier League and Champions League qualifiers Newcastle United will take on Villa who themselves have qualified for the Europa Conference.

Sunday delivers one of the biggest games of the season on the very first weekend as Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge. Both sides will be hoping for a much better season than last year. Tottenham Hotspur who will be hoping that a certain Harry Kane lines up for them, given all the speculation around a possible move for the number 9, travel to Brentford. The first Monday Night Football of the season sees Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United take on a Wolves side that had struggled in the Premier League last season.
