We’ll Never Forget – Take That

Take That – Taking On Anfield

They promised fans a night they wouldn’t forget, and tonight Take That certainly delivered on this promise. Following last weekend’s Champions League victory there was something special about watching the first music gig in Anfield for ten years, with the Band singing towards the Kop. And it was made more memorable when Gary Barlow brought out Gerry Marsden, who despite his age, gave the crowds the heartwarming moment of singing his classic Liverpool anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone. Although this moment, which no doubt gave fans goosebumps, came at the end of the show, both Gary Barlow and Mark Owen made it clear early on of their admiration for Liverpool; it’s team and city.

Sat behind his piano, Gary Barlow said: “What a week to be in Merseyside. I’m just so happy. “I travelled here with my mum who grew up in Walton which isn’t far from here. “She even showed me her bus stop. “We’ve been made to feel so welcome by everyone at the club.”
