Description
Craven Cottage, nestled on the banks of the River Thames, first opened in 1896 and has been home to Fulham Football Club ever since. Known for its unique charm and character, the stadium blends historic architecture with modern hospitality facilities. Recent redevelopments, including the Riverside Stand, have expanded capacity to 29,600 and enhanced the matchday experience while preserving the ground’s traditional feel.
Fulham FC History
Fulham Football Club, London’s oldest professional football club, was founded in 1879 by a group of worshippers from St. Andrew’s Church in Fulham under the name Fulham St. Andrew’s Church Sunday School F.C. The club turned professional in 1898 and joined the Football League in 1907.
Over the years, Fulham have enjoyed memorable moments, from legendary players such as Johnny Haynes and George Cohen to reaching the UEFA Europa League Final in 2010. Known for their attractive style of football and passionate fanbase, “The Cottagers” have bounced between divisions but have firmly re-established themselves in the Premier League in recent seasons.
Under Marco Silva’s management, Fulham have developed into a competitive top-flight side, combining solid defensive organisation with flair in attack. The Riverside Stand redevelopment has also signalled a new era of growth for the club, providing world-class facilities for supporters and guests.
