Europa League: Liverpool 2-0 Union Saint-Gilloise

Liverpool have remained top of group E after a 2-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise at Anfield on Thursday night. Jurgen Klopp made 9 changes from the team that were heroically beaten by Tottenham at the weekend, but even with so many changes, LFC proved too much for the Belgian side. One of The Reds newest signings, Ryan Gravenberch put Liverpool ahead in the 44th minute after a mistake from the opposition keeper. It wouldn’t be until the 92nd minute that Liverpool would extend their lead through a Diogo Jota goal to secure all 3 points.

Liverpool’s next match is against French side Toulouse on Thursday 26th October and may prove to be a more difficult test for The Reds. Toulouse are 2nd in the group with 4 points, after a 1-0 win over LASK and a win against Liverpool would take them top. With the derby between Liverpool and Everton being played the weekend before, Klopp will be keen to keep the good results coming.
