Champions League Results

The Champions League Quarter-finals have come to an end and we know who the last four are. Let’s take a look at the results and check out who will face each other at the semi-final stage.

Chelsea 0 – 2 Real Madrid

Chelsea were powerless to resist a Real Madrid side that are looking for their 15th Champions League win. After losing at the Santiago Bernabeu 2-0, they were facing an uphill challenge to overturn a first leg defeat to a team that has all the experience needed to go through to the next stage. Two goals from Rodrygo would see Chelsea’s Champions League campaign end at the quarter final stage.

Napoli 1 – 1 Milan

AC Milan took a well earned 1-0 win to Naples after the majority of people would have expected Napoli to earn a much better result. In a game that Napoli dominated, they could only earn a draw against Milan which saw AC go through 1-2 on aggregate. Milan lead since the 43rd minute through a goal from Olivier Giroud and it would take until the 93rd minute when Victor Osimhen would score an equaliser on the night.

Bayern Munich 1 – 1 Manchester City

Munich suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at the Etihad to a City side that are chasing their first Champions League trophy in their history. And City would take the lead in the second leg at the Allianz Arena, all but sinking Bayern’s hope of a historic comeback. Erling Haaland had earlier missed a penalty but scored in the 57th minute, while Bayern could only manage the one goal over the two legs, a penalty scored by Joshua Kimmich.

Inter 3 – 3 Benfica

Inter will have been confident in taking a 2-0 lead back to the San Siro after beating Benfica in their own backyard. Inter would take an early lead through Nicolo Barella in the 14th minute. Benfica equalised in the 38th minute through a goal from Fredrik Aursnes. Inter would then go 3-1 ahead later in the second half through goals from Lautaro Martinez (65′) and Joaquin Correa (78′). Benfica weren’t going to give up easily though and would get the score back to 3-3. Antonio Silva (86′) and Petar Musa (90+5′) evened the score but it would be too little too late.

Semi-final Draw

Manchester City will face Real Madrid in what promises to be an incredible tie. It’s the 14 times winners from Madrid vs. the seemingly unstoppable force of Manchester City, chasing their first taste of Champions League glory!

It’s the Milan derby in the other semi-final with Inter taking on AC in what should be an incredibly exciting couple of games. Milan have won the competition 7 times compared to Inter’s 3 and both will be looking to increase their tally at the expense of their local rival.
